Craigslist buyer Threatened at Gunpoint in Lima, Rochester
It is very common these days that craigslist buyers and seller are threatened via hand gun or other instrument. Todd Cavanaugh wanted was threatened in Lima, Rochester while he was making transaction. He wanted to upgrade his laptop and found the relevant ad in craigslist. He has been involved in transactions during past and like the services. The laptop he liked had the worth of $1,000 and he wanted to meet the seller. They decided the place for meeting and Wal-Mart parking lot in Lockport was selected. This park is a public place and Cavanaugh thought it is safe enough for transaction. When they met seller asked to see the money. The victim allowed him to get into the car and asked for computer. Instead of computer, seller pointed the gun at Todd and demanded for money. The victim started fighting and called the people in parking lot. Two men came for his help and called the police. The victim was continuously crying and telling people that he is not a seller rather a robber. The mistake of the buyer was that he was alone and did not have another person with him. Police arrested the robber and charged him with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.
